The ingredients needed to make Grandma's Pot Roast:
  1. Use 3 lb chuck pot roast
  2. Prepare 1 1/2 cup beef broth
  3. Prepare 6 small baby red potatoes; halved
  4. Get 2 cups baby carrots
  5. Use 1 yellow onion; sliced
  6. Use to taste garlic salt
  7. Use to taste ground pepper
  8. Take 3 tsp dijon mustard
  9. Get 3 tsp dried rosemary

  12. Take 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
Instructions to make Grandma's Pot Roast:
  1. Cut roast in half. Rub down with dijon mustard, dried rosemary, tyme, salt, pepper & garlic salt. Place roast into slow cooker. Put slow cooker on high.
  2. Pour into slow cooker your beef broth, halved potatoes, baby carrots & sliced onion. Then sprinkle a packet of Lipton onion soup mix over roast & veggies.
  3. Cover & cook on high for 6 hrs. As the roast cooks it will shrink, leaving room to move around the veggies half way through the cooking process. When finished the roast should easily fall apart. Serve & enjoy! 😆

Peel and cut your potatoes, carrots and onions. Over medium high heat, brown the vegetables in a couple tablespoons olive oil. Next, you sear your pot roast on both sides until browned. Deglaze the pan with wine or water, and then return the roast to the pan. Salt and pepper roast on both sides.
