  1. Prepare 2 lb red beans
  2. You need 1 onion
  3. You need 3 toes of garlic
  4. Prepare 1 lb pickled meat
  5. Provide 1 tbls parsley
  6. Get 1 lb cut up smoked sausage
  7. Provide 1/2 tsp baking soda
  8. Take 1 cup chopped celery
  9. Prepare 2 bay leaves

  8. Cook on low stirring occasionally. Do not tightly cover
  9. Cook for three and a half hours or until beans are cooked
  10. Smash some beans against the side of the pot to make it creamier
