  2. Prepare 1 cup cheese

  6. Prepare 8 inch pie pan. I use a ceramic one but you can use metal.
  7. Take 1 box of 2 pie crusts-size of the pan you plan to use. I use an 8 inch pie pan.
  8. Prepare 1/4 stick melted butter
Steps to make Mexican Pie:
  1. spray and flour pie pan
  2. place one pie crust in baking pan like you are going to make a pie.
  3. cook ground meat until it is fully cooked and in small pieces.
  4. once cooked add jar of salsa and stir around
  5. add cup of cheese and stir around
  6. place mixture in pan on top of crust #1
  7. place pie crust #2 on top and press/squeeze crust edges together.
  8. spread melted butter on top of crust and edges.
  9. add pinch or a little more of cheese to top of crust.
  10. cut 6 pie slits into crust
  11. pre heat oven to 350° if using a metal pan. Cook for 30 min or so. Turn temperature to 425° and cook until crust is golden brown OR if using a ceramic pan then you must put the pan in the oven and heat slowly up to 425° starting with 250° and going up by increments of 50°. Cook until golden brown
